Halima graduated as overall best art student from NTIC Co-Ed Abuja, where she was awarded a full scholarship to attend Nile University. She however attended the American University of Nigeria and holds a first class honors degree in International and Comparative Politics. She graduated overall best in her department, as well as overall best in the faculty of Arts and Sciences. While at AUN, she served in various capacities including as treasurer and vice president of the Politics and Peace Studies Society, assistant head of tutorials, and head of events at the AUN Honor Society, a biology teaching assistant, a member of the AUN Judicial Affairs, and most notably as president of the Student Government. She was a participant at the 2022 ECOWAS Gender Transformative Human Capital development Conference in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She is currently doing her youth service at the Yaradua Foundation where she supports the gender justice and climate advocacy programmes.
