Who Should Apply

Selection Criteria

We look for dedicated young Nigerians with proven commitment to public service and national development.

Nigerian Citizen

Citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Leadership Track Record

Strong and demonstrable leadership and development skills with a credible track record in service to community or society.

Communication & Creativity

English fluency (oral and written), with creativity and innovation for practical and workable solutions.

Patriotism & Vision

Patriotic, visionary and passionate about Nigeria’s stability, growth and development, with an interest in participating in the Nigerian legislature.

Commitment

Willingness to commit to the values and full programme of the LMI.

Age 21–35

Applicants must be between ages 21 and 35.

Nigeria's history, the trajectory of the constitution, and rich parliamentary history — applying lessons toward a new Nigeria.

Parliament & Democracy

The role of parliaments in nation building and the legislature as the anchor of democracy in a complex, pluralistic society.

Legislative Process

Hands-on understanding of legislative processes — culture of service, sustained engagement, and impact for national development.

Value-Based Leadership

A value-based, no-excuse leadership mentality with the competence for disciplined execution of programmes and projects at scale.

Social & Emotional Intelligence

Social skills and emotional intelligence needed to serve Nigeria's multi-religious, multi-cultural, and multi-ethnic population with justice and unity.
