Medical Doctor & Health Policy Advocate

National Primary Health Care Development Agency • Enugu State

Hon. Sunday V. Eze

Dr. Sunny Eze has continued to blend his medical expertise with a passion for health governance. Following the LMI Fellowship, he was appointed as a consultant to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, where he is helping to redesign community health worker training protocols across South-East Nigeria.

His book “What Your Doctors Wish You Knew” has now sold over 10,000 copies and was adopted as supplementary reading material by two schools of public health. He recently completed a second edition with expanded chapters on mental health and preventive care policy.

In 2025, Dr. Eze launched the “Health for Governance” initiative — a programme that trains elected local government officials on evidence-based health policy, bridging the gap between clinical knowledge and legislative decision-making.

His work has earned him a nomination for the Nigeria Health Sector Reform Champion Award.

“Good health policy starts with good legislators who understand the data. LMI taught me how to speak to power effectively.” — Dr. Sunday Eze
