Hon. Fahad L. Abubakar

Fahad has been a driving force in digital governance across North-West Nigeria since his LMI Fellowship. His company, Encrypted Shield Technologies, secured a contract with the Sokoto State Government to digitize land registration records — a project that has reduced processing times by 60% and improved transparency in land administration.

Drawing from his experience as a former Special Assistant to the Governor of Kaduna State, Fahad launched the “GovTech North-West” initiative, a quarterly convening of young technologists and public servants exploring how technology can improve service delivery in the region.

As Chairman of the Sokoto State University Alumni Association, he established a scholarship fund for students studying computer science and public administration, awarding 10 scholarships in its inaugural year.

Fahad was recently featured in the Directory of Young Change-Makers in Nigeria for the second consecutive year, and continues to advocate for greater youth inclusion in governance processes across the North-West.
