Hon. Ruth Ki
Cybersecurity Analyst & Education Advocate
African Jewels Development Initiative • Plateau State
Ruth has been making waves at the intersection of technology and public service. After the LMI Fellowship, she advanced her career in cybersecurity while simultaneously expanding the African Jewels Development Initiative, her education-focused NGO.
In 2025, she partnered with the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board to launch a digital literacy programme in 15 primary schools across Jos, introducing students to basic cybersecurity hygiene and online safety. The programme has already reached over 3,000 pupils.
Ruth is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics at Nasarawa State University, where her thesis focuses on developing a framework for protecting voter data in Nigeria’s electoral systems — a research interest directly inspired by her LMI experience.
She recently announced her intention to contest for the Plateau State House of Assembly in 2027, making her one of the youngest LMI alumni to formally declare political ambitions.
“LMI gave me the blueprint for turning technical expertise into public service. Now I’m building on that blueprint.” — Ruth Ki
